Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Central Research Radiotechnical Institute named after
academician A. I. Berg” was founded on July, 4, 1943 under the Resolution of the State Defence Committee. It is one of the leading military-industrial complex enterprises in Russia with more than 65 years experience in development of radioelectronic monitoring equipment and complexes and various based electronic countermeasures equipment.

The fundamental and applied researches in the field of electronic countermeasures had been made in CNIRTI under direction of the first director engineer rear admiral, then academician Aksel Ivanovich Berg. From 1943 to 1945, 64 R&D projects for equipment of the Red Army with radio technical apparatus had been executed.

Further, several generations of complexes and systems of electronic countermeasures equipment have been created at the enterprise and applied to different types of aircrafts. The modern military equipment and arms are fitted with various electronic means providing information gathering, targeting and defeat the enemy military equipment. Combined use of electronic countermeasure (ECM) equipment promotes increase of survivability of a military technical equipment. Counteraction to reconnaissance and weapon control means is carried out, depending on a bandwidth and formed interference types. Permanent improvement of radio-electronic resources and their variety toughens efficiency and multifunctionality requirements of ECM products.

High requirements, in particular, frequency range extension, multichanneling, great number of interference and combinations are made to the modern stations. Weight-dimension parameters are of major importance.

FSUE “Central Research Radiotechnical Institute named after academician A. I. Berg” is at the final stage of creation of the System of Radio Electronic Counteraction “Omul” (for Su aircrafts family) and Active Interference Station MSP-418 K (for MiG aircrafts) intended for individual and individually-mutual protection of aircrafts by formation of deliberate active interference to radio-electronic weapons control facilities, that are the part of the antiaircraft missile, antiaircraft artillery and missile complexes.

Analysis of the signal environment and interference formation by electronic countermeasures stations is carried out by digital devices by frequency digital store and reproduction technology (DRFM) , which allow to reprogram all process of electronic countermeasures, including signal interference modulation, frequency adjustment, level of capacity adjustment and radiation moment which means that in process of radio-electronic weapons control improvement it is not necessary to create new radioelectronic warfare equipment, but its enough to update its software.

MSP-418 K Station and the System of Radio Electronic Counteraction “Omul” were designed on modular-assembly principle with open architecture and distributed system. Troubleshooting up to unit accuracy, measurement parameters and preventive maintenance of electronic-countermeasures system are carried out by built-in means in combination with standard devices. Station control unit is installed in fuselage or in hanging pods.

FSUE “CNIRTI named after academician A. I. Berg” successfully cooperates with leading aircraft companies in Russia in the development and delivery of electronic jammer of MiG, Sukhoi aircraft family, and also with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Rosobonexport” in the field of special equipment and facilities export supplies.

Last year in December the Government Committee for Stability Improvement of Russian Economic Development included FSUE “CNIRTI named after academician A.I. Berg” in the list of 295 Russian backbone organizations having strategic importance.
